Nathula Pass - Indo China Border

It couldn't have been better - me standing at a Height of more than 14,000 ft from the sea level. Though there is no snow, still the beauty of the hills is incomparable....

Its been days since i have been in Gangtok but I haven't seen the boundaries of the two countries - the so called Brothers - India and China. And as today my guide told me we have got the Pass/ Permit to see the Nathula Pass, I can't see anything better. Nathula Pass is the Indo China Border at a height of more than 14,000ft. To reach this one needs at least 4 hrs from Gangtok. Passing through many beautiful places one reaches the No Mans Land - the Nathula Pass. Time flies as we pass through Hanuman Tok ( Hanuman Temple in Gangtok), Tosmgo Lake and the Natural Beauty of the Hills.

From a distance I could see the large Board with Chinese and English Translation of these written on it. Like - Ni Hao means How do you Do? I finish up reading these Chinese Phrases and take on the path towards the Nathula Pass on foot ( u have to walk from this point).

Its after a long time I am experiencing certain kind of Patriotism with Mera Bharat Mahan written on the Greeny Patch. Enthusiasticly, i finally make it here- standing at a height of 14, 140 ft - nearly half the height of Mt. Everest....... . Beauty moves here as swiftly as child on play. Though it was the month of May - i couldn't feel it. Draped in Greenery, it was the best place i could have been here in this month.

A simple Barbed fence divides the land into India and China ( Tibet Autonomous Region). With Army Bunkers lined up, it a beauty for the strangers eyes. If you ask them, they will tell " Its not the Enemy but the harsh
conditions which get on us). The Army people are correct as - As the winter grows itself fully, so does the lack of Oxygen at such a height. It not the trade, its the crade which deepens here, in the land called THE NATHULA PASS !
