Top 7 Things to Think Of While Making Plans for a European Travel Tour

When it comes to one of the most exotic destinations in world to tour around, then there can be nothing better than Europe. European travel tours not only include the best state –of-art destinations but also one of the finest historical places to be in. Ranging from a host of countries, including the most famous tour destinations like Egypt, Israel, Ireland, Morocco, Spain, Great Britain, Switzerland, Germany, Turkey, Italy and Greece, Austria, France and Morocco – it is by all means once in a lifetime travel tour.

Of course, there are a host of countries one of visit in his/her European Travel Tour; still one can make a list of most popular European destinations or the most liked European countries to take the tour. This idea comes simply for two reasons: if one opts for seeing all the destinations, it can be over – tiring plus over –budgeted. Secondly, due to time constrain, it might not be possible to see all the destinations at one go. However, in addition to the places you will consider to travel, there are some vital factors one needs to think of before making the big Europe Travel Tour plan.  I will simple highlight some of the most important of them:

1.Documents: Well these are a must have’s – all the time you are in Europe. Passport, Visa and Travel Insurance. Passport, as we all know is an integral part of any foreign country. And in case you don’t have a valid passport, then you cannot land in a foreign land. So, keep the original passport with you – always. IF KIDS ARE TRAVELLING ALONG, MAKE SURE YOU KEEP THEIR PASSPORTS WITH YOU.
The second thing you will require in any foreign land is the VISA. In short VISA is something which tells the authorities of a foreign country, how long you are going to stay in their land. (However, there is a little discrepancy in this matter. There are at least 42 countries around the world whose nationals are not required to produce a VISA to travel around Europe. The list includes countries like Australia, New Zealand, United States of America, Croatia, Canada and Japan. The list is big, so do check with your passport office authorities in case your country is in the list of the ones who do not require a VISA to visit Europe.
The third thing required is the Insurance. It is very essential to have an Insurance which includes travel and health insurance. By all means, you must buy these if you are going to travel any foreign land. The benefits of these are many as compared to the cost you will be paying for these.

2. The Euros: Well, this one comes out to be the second handiest thing one needs to carry all the time while being in Europe. You can use the Euro in all the EU countries including the most travelled ones like Greece, Germany, Italy, France, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia and Luxembourg. So, it’s good to simply take the Euro from your own country before landing in Europe. One can check exchange rates in the European Central Bank website to help with the calculations.

3. The Travel Cards: The good thing about travelling Europe is that withdrawing money from a cash machine costs you the same as it would cost you while withdrawing in your own country (it must be kept in mind that while I talk about the charges, it means only the transaction charges). In simple words, it means that the charges for sending a bank transfer in Euro is the same irrespective of the fact whether it is a national transfer or a transfer to another EU country( or to Iceland and Norway).

4. Carrying Cash: One can enter or leave EU with upto 10,000 Euros (or equivalent to this in any other currency) in cash; above this amount one has to declare the cash amount to customs authorities. One must note here that even some of the member EU countries apply cash controls while travelling from one EU country to another. So, one must abide by the cash transaction rules at any point of time.

5. Being Healthy: While travelling it is very essential to be healthy at all times. After all what is the use of spending so much of money if you cannot enjoy the travel! Still, it is a good idea to take a health insurance while being on the run. Many of the travel agents will tell you to take a European Health Card while being in the EU. Even if they don’t, insist upon it and take it. The good thing about these cards is that if you have it you will get some free medicines for small ailments like mild fever, food alteration allergies and child sickness due to food and water change. (One of the best tips here is to carry a sunscreen, see the quality of bathing water and keep an eye on the ozone level – for the healthy EU travel).

6. Time Travel: This is very important. Once you have decided upon which parts of Europe you wish to travel, do keep a track of the best time to be there. There are so many countries and if you wish to travel from one country to another at the same time, then your travel conditions should be in synchronization of both the countries. So, just tap on the time zones before you make any plans.

7. Emergency: Not many people think of it; but it will be a real great self help if one does – the Emergency No. The Emergency No. of Europe is 112 and one should keep it in mind all the time one is in Europe. In any kind of emergency when nobody is around to help you, this should come as the best help. Otherwise, your travel agent is the second best help.

While I have covered most of the things one needs to take care of while travelling in Europe, still if there is anything which comes to your mind, do discuss it with your travel agent – he ought to be the best person to help you out!
